IL PROFILO DEI BLOGGERS/BLOGGERS' PROFILES
BENEDETTA PIANTELLA SIMEONIDIS
Sono nata a cresciuta a Parma, ma vivo negli Stati Uniti dal 1998. Mi sono laureata nel 2004 in Installazioni Audio-visive e Foto-giornalismo alla Tufts University e School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, dopo aver conseguito la Maturità Classica presso il Liceo Maria Luigia di Parma. Le mie esperienze lavorative precedenti includono uno stage presso l' MIT List Visual Arts Center e l'organizzazione del Padiglione Americano per la 50ª Biennale di Venezia. Ho insegnato all'Università corsi di nuove tecnologie digitali applicate soprattutto alla Fotografia; mi sono poi trasferita a NYC per sperimentare un metodo di insegnamento dell'Italiano ai bambini attraverso l'insegnamento dell'Arte, che si rivelo' un successo. Ho poi lavorato come Grafica per l'Istituto Italiano di Cultura e poi come giornalista/corrispondente per quotidiani Italiani e reti televisive locali come La Gazzetta di Parma e Teleducato. Dopo essere stata la Vice Direttrice della Casa Italiana Zerilli-Marimò presso la New York University, sto ora completando un Master presso la NYU in Telecomuncazioni Interattive e Tecnologia. Ora insegno Lego-Robotica in scuole pubbliche elementari di NY e mi sto specializzando in Interaction Design.
I was born and raised in Parma, Italy but I was adopted by the USA since 1998. I obtained a BFA in Audio-Visual Installation and Photojournalism from Tufts University and School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, after graduating from Liceo Classico Maria Luigia in Parma.Some of my previous job experiences include working for the MIT List Visual Arts Center on the American Pavilion of the 50th Venice Biennale. I also taught in College courses on new digital technologies applied to Photography and then moved to NYC to experiment teaching children art and Italian language together, which revealed to be a success. I then worked as a Graphic designer for the Italian Cultural Institute and then as a Journalist/Correspondent for different Italian Newspapers and TV channels, such as La Gazzetta di Parma and Teleducato. After working for New York University as the Assistant Director of the Casa Italiana Zerilli-Marimò, I am now pursuing my Master's degree at NYU through the Interactive Telecommunications Program in Art and Technology. I am now teaching Lego-Robotics classes in NY public elementary schools and I am specializing in Interaction Design.
GIANLUCA TARABORELLI
Mi chiamo Gianluca, ho 27 anni vivo tra il Trentino Alto Adige e New
York. Mi sono laureato nel novembre 2005 in Scienze della Comunicazione all'Università di Padova con una tesi sulla Radio del Futuro dal titolo "FuRa Future Radio, un progetto di radicale rinnovamento del mezzo radiofonico nell'era del Web 2.0"
Attualmente collaboro con diversi magazine musicali, ho lavorato come editor presso l'agenzia di stampa ApCom Usa e come producer per il documentario "Why is Kofi Annan not a Woman?", Nel 2006 ho svolto un periodo di internship presso Rai Corporation a New York occupandomi del monitoraggio del mercato americano dei media. Negli ultimi 6 mesi ho fatto il commesso al Brico, il magazziniere, il piallatore, il giornalista alla radio e il giornalista sulla carta, ho fatto la vendemmia, la raccolta delle mele, il personal assistant per una sciura del fashion, il sales manager in uno showroom di design a Soho, il cameriere, l'insegnante di italiano, ho lavorato in una fabbrica di patatine, ho suonato con almeno 15 persone diverse sulle due sponde dell'oceano. Mi piacciono le cataste della legna, mi piacciono gli alveari, i collage, le mappe, i formichieri anzi meglio i formicai, mi piace più di ogni altra cosa quando tutto è riempito all'impossibile
ed è disordinato come nei libri di Where's Wally. Mi piacciono la musica dei neri, la velocità ed il rumore stridulo, so suonare la tromba, la chitarra, il piano e la batteria ho una foto di Ugo Tognazzi nel portafoglio e come potete immaginare di storie da raccontare ne ho un sacchetto pieno.
I was Born and raised in Trento, Italy but for the last two years I have been living between New York and Trentino Alto Adige.
In november 2005 I obtained a MA in communications from the University Of Padua with a degree thesis called FuRa, Future Radio, a radical renewing project for the radio in the web 2.0 Era. In the past two years I have been working as editor for the press agency Apcom Usa, I've been a producer for the documentary "Why is Kofi Annan not a Woman?" and working for Rai Corporation New York doing market research and studying th American media market.
In the last 6 months I've been a clerk, a warehouseman, a radio journalist, a newspaper journalist, I have done the grape harvest, the apple harvest, I have been the personal assistant of a fashion business lady, a sales manager for a design showroom in Soho, a waiter, an Italian language teacher, I have been working in a potato chips factory, I have been playing with almost 15 musicians on both sides of the ocean.
I like the wood stacks, the hives, the collages, the maps, the anthills. More than anything else I like when everything is extremely stuffed and caothic like in "Where's Wally" children books. I love black music, velocity, the screeching punk noise, I play trumpet, piano, drums, guitar, In my wallet i have a Ugo Tognazzi's picture and as you can imagine, I have a bag full of stories to tell.

ABOUT ITALIAN/AMERICAN DIGITAL PROJECT
THE PROJECT
The goal of the project is the consolidation of a bilingual on-line community dedicated to Italian/Americans and to everyone with an interest in Italy and Italian/American affairs.
The online community will produce, collect and discuss information on a wide range of related topics: culture and society, history and heritage, art and cinema, lifestyle and fashion, gastronomy and tourism.
User-created content and discussions will be the main asset of this social network activity whose aim is to help broaden the knowledge of Italy in all its regional variations and reinforce ties between Italians in Italy and Italians in America.
